By the end of the 21st century, Earth has faced many major crises. These upheavals led to the creation of the Federated Nations Alliance (FNA), a global authoritarian government supported by an artificial intelligence called "The Governance." Confronted with social and environmental challenges, the FNA enforced drastic measures. Meanwhile, humanity began colonizing space, starting with Mars and then venturing into distant star systems. In 2389, dissidents and clones were exiled to the Ikarian system, establishing colonies on Kryo, Luxion, and Naya, to evolve independently from Earth for millennia.

Kryo is the central planet of the Oxya Universe and the first settlement of humans in the Ikarian system, before they expanded to Naya and Luxion. It is the third planet in its star system, with two natural satellites, Chandra and Isis, and a population of 200 million. Kryo's environment, though harsh, features an Earth-like atmosphere, with temperatures ranging from -60°C at night to 10°C during the day. Its equatorial megacities, Kryocities 1 through 3, serve as hubs of political and economic activity. The Kryonian calendar starts in 4492 Earth years, marking the arrival of the first human colonists.
Naya, the second planet of the Ikarian system, is a desert world with extreme conditions, including temperatures ranging from 50°C to 75°C in equatorial regions and a gravity 20% stronger than Kryo's. Colonized in 1051 by humans seeking refuge from technology, Naya’s unique environment forced its inhabitants to abandon traditional engineering due to a silicon-degrading bacterium. With scarce surface water and an annual rain season transforming the desert into lush landscapes, its 40 million inhabitants rely on polar regions for settlement. The population is predominantly female, and their society leans towards alternative, organic technology complemented by newfound resources like Oxya.
Luxion, the innermost planet of the Ikarian system, is a world of extremes where temperatures range from -180°C at night to 430°C during the day. Its molten surface is dotted with solid islands where the first robotic settlers built habitats. Colonized by humans from Kryo in 387 (Kryo calendar), its 100 million inhabitants adapted to the harsh environment through cybernetic enhancements, evolving into a society of cyborgs. Luxion's mineral-rich terrain supports its technological advancements, while its slow rotation has led to the adoption of Kryo's calendar. Some inhabitants have even transferred their consciousness to robots governed by Sync, an AI deity.
